Save and earn

Use energy wisely and let energy prices work for you. You'll save more than with a standard dynamic contract – and even earn money by consuming negative prices.

Act on real-time prices

10s energy gives you access to Elia's prices, which change every fifteen minutes. You know exactly when electricity is cheap or even negatively priced – and can automatically adjust accordingly.

Use your existing setup

Connect your "energy guzzlers" to your smart energy management system (EMS): Automate your charging station, heat pump, or electric water heater with smart rules you set. No additional devices required, simply use your existing setup.

Step 1

Activation

Sign up for an energy contract via the website.  We are currently collecting earlybird details.

Step 2

Appliance setup

Connect & configure the devices that use the most energy, so they run smarter, not harder.

Step 3

Save & earn

Track your savings in real time with your 10s dashboard, sometimes even earn money!

Three ways you're paying more than you need to.

Standard energy contracts were designed around the grid of twenty years ago. ...The market has moved on.

You pay the same rate whatever the time.

On a fixed contract, your unit rate never changes — morning rush or quiet Sunday night, it costs the same. But electricity has never worked that way. Wholesale prices swing constantly. Your supplier pockets the difference.

4X

more pricing windows per hour with 10s vs a standard dynamic contract

Day-ahead pricing reacts too slowly

Even a dynamic tariff only gives you yesterday's forecast — prices set the day before, updated hourly at best. Real price drops happen in 15-minute windows, driven by wind gusts, solar surges, and sudden demand shifts. By the time your tariff updates, the cheap window is already gone.

15 min

Elia's real pricing interval — the one 10s actually uses

You're missing negative prices entirely

In 2024, more than 8% of quarter-hour intervals on the Belgian grid had a negative price — the market was paying consumers to use electricity. Your EV, boiler, and heat pump sat idle through most of them. On a fixed or standard dynamic contract, that opportunity simply doesn't reach you.

8.2%

of 2024 quarter-hours had a negative market price

With 10s energy real-time actually means real time.

Most suppliers call it dynamic pricing. What they deliver is a list of hourly prices, published the evening before. 10s connects you directly to Elia's live quarter-hour market. The actual price, at the actual moment your appliances are running.

N

Reacts in the quarter-hour, not the next day

Price drops don't send a warning 18 hours in advance. They happen now. 10s gives your Home Assistant the live signal it needs to act immediately — not after the window has passed.

N

Your rules, running in the background

You set a price threshold once — say, only run the dishwasher below €20/MWh. After that, you don't think about it. Your setup handles it. No apps to check, no schedules to manage.

N

See every decision, to the quarter-hour

Your 10s dashboard shows exactly which windows your appliances ran in, what the price was, and what you saved or earned. No black box — just complete transparency on every kWh.

Standard dynamic tariff.

10s-Energy dynamic tariff.

When prices go negative, you get paid to use electricity.

Surpluses happen almost every day — too much wind, too much solar, not enough demand. The market price drops below zero and the grid needs consumers to absorb the excess. With 10s, your Home Assistant automatically switches on your biggest appliances at exactly these moments. Instead of paying to charge your car or heat your water, you earn money doing it.

Need gas too?

We've got you covered.

Dynamic electricity is what we're here for — but we know that switching only ever works if you can bring everything with you. So we've added a straightforward fixed-rate gas tariff. One supplier, one bill, zero faff.

One bill

Gas and electricity together, on a single monthly statement.

Fixed rate

Predictable gas pricing, so there are no surprises mid-winter.

Electricity stays smart

Adding gas doesn't change a thing about your dynamic electricity contract. The clever stuff stays clever.

Why

A few more reasons

React in real time

Get more from your energy automations. Your EV, battery, electric boiler, etc ready to respond in an instant.

Dynamic tariffs can feel like a black box, you don’t know what you’ll actually pay.

10s Energy gives you the tools and real-time insights to react to market shifts as they happen.

Solar output drops and prices spike? Pause the car charging.

Wind picks up and prices fall? Store that clean energy in your battery.

Every action is immediate, with clear feedback on what it means for your wallet.

Smart control

Automate your smart devices end-to-end with your existing smart home setup.

Connect your devices and divide your home into smart and non-smart appliances.

Install the 10s Energy add-on in your EMS to automatically fetch real-time prices and share consumption data. Use these price signals to run your home on your terms, based on rules you set once.

Charge your car, run your heating, or optimise your solar feed-in. Your EMS handles the execution in the background, while 10s Energy ensures your electricity costs adjust in real time.

Smart timing

Use energy when prices are lowest, even negative, and make the market work in your favour.

Electricity prices don’t just fluctuate, they can even go negative when there’s excess supply.

With 10s Energy, your home automatically takes advantage of these moments—charging your car, running your heat pump, and heating water when prices drop.

You’re not just avoiding peak costs. You’re using energy when the market is on your side—even getting paid to do it.

Switched after a friend sent me a screenshot of her bill. I thought it had to be a mistake. It wasn't. I've now sent the same screenshot to three people.

A smart supplier that really means it

The market can do better

Almost every day, you can get paid to use electricity. Yes, really. Instead of paying to charge your car, the market sometimes pays you to do it.

No, the world isn’t upside down. Electricity can’t yet be stored at scale, and with more wind and solar in the mix, supply doesn’t always match demand. When there’s a surplus, energy prices drop—sometimes below zero. If you know how to take advantage of that, you profit.

01. Will 10s energy get access to my Home Assistant installation?

No. You remain 100% in control of your own system. We only offer you the option to control smart devices based on real-time grid prices, such as Elia's imbalance prices.

How you use this – or not – is entirely up to you. You can even choose not to connect any of your devices to the smart part of your home. In that case, you remain with a classic dynamic contract. So, no obligation, no external control.

02. Will my electric car be automatically charged at imbalance rates?

No. You choose which type of tariff to use for your charging station. You can switch between a smart imbalance tariff and a classic dynamic tariff at any time, with a waiting period of 48 hours. This allows you to respond flexibly to your situation – for example, temporarily switching if you want to be sure your car is fully charged on time when you have a long journey ahead.

03. Can I set my car to be fully charged by a specific time?

Yes. You always retain control over the charging process. For example, you can set it to charge slowly at regular prices, and only charge faster when rates are low or negative. This ensures your car is ready on time, and you benefit from the most favorable times.

04. How does 10s energy work with my solar panels?

Your solar panels continue to produce as usual. We bill the electricity you feed into the grid at the current Elia rate. At times, this can yield more than the standard fixed fee. Furthermore, you can arrange to consume more of your own electricity instead of feeding it in – this can save you up to €50 per kW per year.

05. When does the system consume smart power based on imbalance prices?

This happens in real time for the devices you connect to the smart tariff. Your energy management system can decide for itself when it is favorable to consume, depending on grid balance and current prices.

06. Is that decision made based on predictions or during the quarter-hour itself?

You choose that yourself during the quarter-hour. Your system can operate based on price predictions (forecasts) or make decisions in real time. Both are possible, depending on your installation and settings.

07. Does 10s energy take CAPTAR costs into account?

Not automatically. Your energy management system can take this into account itself, if you wish. Do you need help managing CAPTAR smartly? Then we will look together at how we can support you.

08. Does the smart tariff effect the number of start/stops of my heat pump?

That depends on how you use the system. In general, we recommend not controlling heat pumps based on quarter-hourly rates, such as with the imbalance tariff. It is better to simply let your heat pump run on a classic dynamic tariff, without additional control.

09. Can you control my Smappee charging station?

No, we do not control any devices ourselves. We only give you access to the smart market prices. The control is handled by your system. If the charging station itself cannot be controlled, you may be able to control your electric car directly via Home Assistant – many cars are now fully compatible with it.

Neither the standard dynamic nor the 10s Smart costs include the supplier's commercial margin. The fixed market reference already embeds a typical margin — the dynamic figures do not.

Belgian dynamic tariff providers typically charge €0.015–0.025/kWh above spot plus an annual fee of approximately €50–80/yr (Luminus: €0.021/kWh + €75/yr; Engie: spot × coefficient + fixed constant).
